Hyphen population waning, boarding on extinction!

Posted by Catfish as books, humor

That’s right Hyphen’s are slowly becoming extinct, or at least according to the latest edition of the Oxford English Dictionary. The 6th Edition of this massive dictionary has eliminated the hyphens from nearly 16,000 words! Former hyphenated words such as pot-belly and leap-frog now appear sans hyphen. The reason? It seems people today we just don;t have the time anymore to reach over, disrupt the tippy tap tap tapping of our assuredly extremely important email, and press the hyphen key.

My thoughts? If we don’t need the hyphen key anymore, let’s get rid of it and replace it with a pizza button. Just press the pizza button, and moments later, pizza will be delivered right to your door. Now, that’s technology.
